Professor Zhang Yingze won the second prize of the National Technological Invention Award

     On September 9, at the national science and technology award conference held in Beijing, Professor Zhang Yingze, chairman of the orthopedic branch of the Chinese Medical Association and the only winner of Hebei Province, won the second prize of the 2016 national technological invention award again. Other leading comrades attending the conference were: Liu Qibao, Xu Qiliang, Zhao Leji, Li Zhanshu, Yang Jing, Chen Zhu, Wan Gang.

At the award ceremony, Li Keqiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Premier of the State Council, delivered a speech on behalf of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council. Zhang Gaoli, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice premier of the State Council, presided over the meeting. Liu Yandong, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice premier of the State Council, read out the "decision of the State Council on 2016 National Science and technology awards" at the meeting. A total of about 3300 people attended the conference, including responsible comrades of relevant departments of the central and state organs and the military, members of the national leading group for science and technology education, members of the national science and Technology Award Committee, and representatives of the capital's scientific and technological circles.

There were 66 national technological invention awards in 2016, including 3 first prizes and 63 second prizes. The project of "establishment and clinical application of core technology system for minimally invasive fracture reduction and fixation" presided over by Professor Zhang Yingze's team is the only national technological invention award won as a hospital this year, achieving a breakthrough of zero in the National Technological Invention Award of Hebei Medical University and our hospital. It is also the only National Award (main research) won by Hebei Province in 2016. This is the third time that Professor Zhang Yingze has stepped on the podium of the National Award and has been cordially met by Party and state leaders for many times.

The "establishment and clinical application of the core technology system of minimally invasive fracture reduction and fixation" project has created a core technology system based on homeopathic traction reduction, three-dimensional interactive reduction, internal compression reduction and precise osteotomy prosthesis placement, which has solved the key problems that have plagued orthopedic doctors for many years. It has been granted 29 patents and 7 registration certificates, of which 3 are also registered with the FDA, It is another breakthrough for our province to win the National Technological Invention Award in recent years. So far, this achievement has been applied in 219 hospitals in China and some hospitals in the United States, Ukraine and other countries. It has treated more than 30000 patients, significantly improved the treatment effect of limb and calcaneal fractures, and saved about 431million yuan in medical expenses for patients.
